Southwest Virginia Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellence

The Southwest Virginia Advanced Manufacturing Center of Excellence (SVAM-CoE)  provides hands-on, advanced training in welding, precision machining, and industrial maintenance/mechatronics that prepares a student for advanced and specialty certifications from national accrediting bodies (American Welding Society, National Institute of Metalworking Skills, and Siemens). SVAM-CoE leverages its collaborative partnerships with Mountain Empire Community College, Southwest Virginia Community College, Virginia Highlands Community College and Wytheville Community College to serve the 14-county and 3-city region in Southwest Virginia. In addition to ensuring that existing and new manufacturers have the skilled workforce needed to compete in a global market, SVAM-CoE is committed to advancing the image of manufacturing to ensure a long-term workforce pipeline for sustainability of the advanced manufacturing industries.
